A quiet hard drive is better than a noisy hard drive. The majority of these situations fall into the level 2 category. Most likely a damaged chip on the logic board preventing the hard drive from powering up. These recoveries usually go home on the original hard drive working. Sometimes the read write heads are affected because of the close contact between the board and the read write heads turning these recoveries into our invasive level 3 recovery. Do keep in mind that some of these can also be in critical condition and can also be a challenging recovery.
75% OF THESE TURN OUT TO BE THE LEVEL 2 RECOVERY.
These situations can be caused by:
1. Power surges (Level 2 or 3)
2. Power supply failure (Level 2 or 3)
3. Component on logic board failure (Level 2 or 3)
4. Frozen Bearings (Level 3)
We have dealt with these situations daily for over a dozen years and have the technology and know-how to recover dead drives.
